He credits his foundation to an intensive apprenticeship with a 1960s-trained barber during the early years of his career. American Crew Firm Hold Gel quickly became a styling staple for Jim, and he took his relationship with the Brand to the next level after he attended a hands-on class at State Beauty Supply Show in St. Louis,MO. The class challenged Jim’s skills and spurred him to attend Menswork™ Academy in March 2011. American Crew opened Jim’s eyes to the endless artistic and professional possibilities within men’s grooming, which led him to join the Team in May 2011. He credits his experience as an educator as the catalyst to push himself as a groomer, combining new styles with classic techniques for a better finished product. Jim’s Barbershop was founded in 2008 in Ozark, MO, and its business has quadrupled in size since opening. As a barbershop owner and educator, Jim takes great pride in inspiring other stylists to take the next steps in their professional evolutions. Jim sees the men’s grooming industry as strong and evergrowing and looks forward to the future.
